The race

In the autumn the Fjord Norway Half Marathon is held. Besides the half marathon, there are also 10 and 5 kilometres. The surroundings of this half-marathon are known for their narrow fjords, waterfalls and beautiful glaciers. The landscape is breathtaking. Time stood still here after the first inhabitants built their houses in the Ice Age. Fertile valleys, calm countryside and pure nature are a great backdrop for the half marathon. Due to the natural landscape, there are many hills, which makes this course very challenging. The perfect challenge for the avid runner.

In addition, Bergen is an excellent city for a fun weekend for both runner and supporter. Beautiful scenery and fun activities come together in this city and give you the opportunity to benefit from a diverse range of activities. The green city of Bergen has a beautiful history, many parks, museums and eateries. From here you can also discover the beautiful surroundings of Bergen and go out into nature!

You fly to Bergen and go on your own to hotel Scandic Ornen. Tip : buy a Bergen Card at the arrival hall, with which you can buy for example a 72 hours card. Bergen is full of beautiful scenery and sights. Take a look at Mount Floyen and the Funicular, Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf or stroll through picturesque Stoltzekleiven.

Discover Bergen. The day before the half marathon. After enjoying the breakfast buffet you can enjoy everything Bergen has to offer. Visit for example the KODE Art Museum, the Fish Market or relax in the Byparken (park). You will have to pick up your race number at the expo today. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city further.

The day of the Half Marathon! A scheduled service bus will drive from the bus station to take the runners to the starting line in Knarvik. At 12.00 the starting shot will sound. You have plenty of time to cross the finish line. The course is very hilly, so the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself! After the race, there will be shuttle buses from Knarvik to the hotel.

The day after the half marathon and also the last day of your running trip. You are free to choose how you want to spend this day. Have a nice rest or visit for example the Bryggens Museum, Bergen Aquarium or St. Mary Church. You are on your own to the airport for the return flight.

Torgallmenningen Square, one of Bergen's central locations, is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The buses to the start and finish location in Knarvik leave near the hotel. UNESCO World Heritage Bryggen can be reached on foot in 15 minutes, while Fløibanen is only 1 km away.
The breakfast buffet is freshly prepared for you daily, with over 100 different products and an emphasis on organic ingredients. The Roast Restaurant & Bar is located at the top of the hotel and here you can enjoy Norwegian specialities such as fresh fish from the North Sea and a selection of grilled meats.
