Moreover, it is 700 metres from the start of the Egmond aan Zee Half Marathon!

Because of the challenging course and the battle against the elements, the most legedarian half marathon in the Netherlands. According to many, you don't really count as a runner until you have run 'Egmond' once!

The half marathon starts on the Boulevard Noord in Egmond aan Zee. Via the main beach entrance, you immediately start the first 7 km along the beach. In Castricum aan Zee, you will encounter a tough climb at the beach exit and run into the Noordhollands Duinreservaat. Via the unpaved Vlewoscheweg and the Grote Veldweg you arrive at Kennemerduin Camping Bakkum, where the quarter marathon point is located. So here you are at the halfway point! Paved roads follow to Egmond via Van Speyklaan, Staringweg, Herderslaan and Van Oldenborghweg. Via the Bloedweg you climb back into Egmond aan Zee. This is quite a hill. Then the Van Speijk Lighthouse comes into view, here a last little climb awaits you. Finally, from the lighthouse it is only 200 metres to the glorious finish.
