The race

Germany's largest spring marathon, with more than 25,000 participants, was awarded a gold label by the World Athletics Association. This is not surprising, as this run is praised for its charm and excellent organisation. The participants run right through the heart of the metropolis, and with the enthusiastic atmosphere of the Hamburg Marathon, they are on their way to a great time. Something that is definitely possible on this flat course!

    Hello Hamburg! Today you arrived in Hamburg with your own transport. You can check in at hotel Elbbrucken, the accommodation for the next few days. Afterwards you will of course still have enough time to discover the city of Hamburg. One of the absolute highlights of the city is the Warehouse District. Here you can take a nice tour by boat. In the trendy district 'Schanzenviertel' you can enjoy the culinary side of Hamburg.

    After you have enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet, the whole day is at your leisure. However, you will also need to pick up your bib number today, in case you did not do it yesterday. A visit to the city beach of Sankt Pauli, situated on the river Elbe, is a nice way to relax and work towards tomorrow's big day!

    Today is the big day! The time has finally come! The Hamburg Half Marathon and Marathon will start early, so make sure you are on time. On this flat and fast track you can have a nice personal time. In the evening you can enjoy your performance in the vibrant city of Hamburg, where the evenings are lively.

    The last day of your running trip. After breakfast buffet you can check out of the hotel at your leisure. Afterwards you have the opportunity to visit Hamburg for the last time before you start your journey home!

    Hotel Elbbrücken enjoys a quiet location in the city of Hamburg. Nevertheless, it still has a central location, making it an ideal starting point for your stay in Hamburg. From the hotel, you can reach the city centre by public transport within 20 minutes, and the main train station is only 10 minutes away. Travellers arriving by car can park in the hotel's own car park for a fee (book directly with the hotel in advance). Located along the scenic Elbe Trail, runners can ideally prepare here for the Hamburg Marathon or Half Marathon. 

    The rooms in this 3-star hotel offer you the comfort you need to be well prepared for the start of the marathon weekend in the German port city. In the hotel you can enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet before you go out in Hamburg. In the vicinity of the hotel there are restaurants where you can discover the culinary side of the city in the evening. A visit to the Alster lake or Hamburg's impressive harbour can also be reached by public transport, as can the start and finish locations of the races on Sunday.
