The race

The biggest marathon in Europe takes place in Paris. The Paris Marathon, which traditionally takes place in spring and where many runners run their very first marathon, is highly regarded for its magnificent route along the highlights of the French capital. For instance, the route takes runners along the Eiffel Tower, the Palais Garnier and the Bastille. In addition to the urban environment, which runs mostly along the Seine, part of the course leads through the forest of Vincennes and just before the finish through the forest of Boulogne. Start and finish are near the Arc de Triomphe. Altogether a course where there is a lot to see and experience, in a fantastic atmosphere! Besides the marathon, the half marathon is also an option.

The start of a special running trip! Today you are going to Paris on your own, you will arrive in the beautiful French capital. Upon arrival you can check in at the Hotel Eden Opera, your stay during this marathon weekend in Paris. This hotel offers all the comfort and facilities to prepare you optimally for Sunday's marathon. Thanks to the excellent transport connections, this is a good base for both running and sightseeing in the city. Today you can already visit some of these sights! Like the Arce de Triomphe and the Bastille! In the evening you can enjoy the culinary Paris in one of the many restaurants.

In the morning, enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet offered by the hotel. Today is also the day you need to pick up your bib number. This is possible all day, so there is plenty of time to explore the city. Paris has something for everyone. A visit to the world famous Louvre or the Eiffel Tower are only a few options.

The time has come! The starting shot sounds on the famous Champs-Elysées at 08:09. The course is generally fairly flat, but very diverse. The highlights are the Bastille and the many music groups along the course. All in all it contributes to a beautiful and unique experience. The time limit of the marathon is 5 hours and 40 minutes. Certainly for the experienced runner this will not be an obstacle. If you run the marathon within the time limit, a beautiful medal and a certificate will be waiting for you.

Unfortunately, it is already the last day of the journey. With a feeling of pride you can enjoy the breakfast buffet one more time. Depending on your plans, this is another nice day to enjoy Paris. You will then return nicely with a unique experience richer.
