The race

The Reggae Marathon is Jamaica's most important international marathon event. Marathon runners, sports enthusiasts and beginners come together in Negril, known as Jamaica's paradise. For fun events with a good atmosphere and lots of reggae music, this is the right place for you. The course is internationally recognized and enthusiastic crowds, who have rhythm in their blood, cheer you on as they dance and run to reggae music. This is truly a colourful event, with runners from all over the world taking part and running, dancing as well as laughing together!

The start of a special running trip! Today you leave for the special island of Jamaica. Known for its music, atmosphere and hospitality. After arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel in Negril. Here you can recover in the evening from the long flight.

You can do whatever you wish today. Relaxing on the pearly white beach is of course a must. Take a dive into the Caribbean Sea and enjoy a delicious drink at one of the many beach bars. The special resort of Negril is known as the "paradise of Jamaica", with kilometers of sandy beaches and excellent snorkelling spots. In the evening, you can enjoy the magnificent sunset and of course an evening filled with reggae, the world-famous music style that originates from Jamaica.

Today you have all the time to make an excursion or rent a car. We are happy to look into the possibilities with you. About half an hour drive from Nergil is the Blue Hole Mineral Spring. This is an underground water cave that has a cooling effect on a hot day. You can choose to climb down the ladder or take the 6-meter jump. There is also a small bar where you can order something tasty.

The day before the marathon. On this day you have to pick up your bib number at the expo. Apart from that, you will of course have time to spend the day as you wish. Relaxing at the beach, going for a walk or running for the big one tomorrow are some of the options. Tonight the JHTA Pasta Party will also take place with live entertainment. A great opportunity to get to know other international participants in this special marathon.

The day of the Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 km! A bus from the organisation will drive past all the hotels to pick up the participants. The start is very early, so make sure you are well rested and ready for the start. Afterwards you will receive a beautiful medal. Of course, this special achievement should be celebrated with the other runners! For this reason the Reggae Marathon Beach Bash has been organised on Sunday evening. Enjoy a fun evening in Jamaica together with your fellow runners!

The day after the race! Luckily, the beach is just around the corner, so you can enjoy a relaxing day after yesterday's performance. Of course, you can also choose to go out today. In West End, a part of the town of Negril, you can see the rough coastline and lighthouse. Here you will also find nice bars and restaurants that offer a fantastic view over the water. If you drive from the West End to Little Bay, you will find a picturesque fishing village. The beaches here are almost empty and there is excellent snorkelling. West End and Little Bay are easy to reach by scooter, which you can hire in Negril.

Last day at leisure, so the perfect opportunity to enjoy the surroundings of Negril. You can also choose to visit the historic town of Lucea, once an important port for sugar cane trade, now a place where you can truly experience the Caribbean lifestyle. The old houses, dating back to the 18th century, have been beautifully preserved.
