The race

The White Nights Marathon in St. Petersburg is an annual event that owes its name to the "White Nights". During this time of the year the sun never quite sets, which leads to a beautiful sky. During the marathon the participants run past the most famous sights of this Russian city, starting at the world famous palace plan in front of the Hermitage. This is also the finishing point of this marathon. Is the marathon distance a bit too long for you? Then you can also opt for the 10 km!

Доброе утро (Dobroye utro) St Petersburg! Today you will travel by metro to the Marathon Expo to pick up your starting ticket, after that you are free to do whatever you want. Explore the beautiful canals and magnificent palaces. Or go for a nice run in the big city parks to prepare for tomorrow!

This is the big day you have come for, the day of the marathon! The start is at 08:00, so you have to get up early and take the metro to the start. Because the sun never quite sets during this period, you will find yourself in a beautiful sky. You will start and finish at the world famous Palace Plan in front of the Hermitage.

On this day, you can recover from the marathon and explore the city further at your leisure. You might want to visit the Russian Museum and the Mariinsky Theatre. St. Petersburg is also home to the tallest skyscraper in Europe, the Lakhta Center!

Unfortunately, today the adventure is over again. You will go to the airport on your own for the return flight. Nevertheless, you have experienced a wonderful adventure and you will hopefully have won a medal!
