Marathon trips in Nice Cannes

Nice is a large city on the Côte d'Azur. With over three hundred thousand inhabitants, it is the second city of this region on the French Riviera after Marseille. However, due to its central location, Nice is often considered the heart of the Côte d'Azur. This feeling is reinforced by the fact that the bulk of people travelling to this popular holiday region by plane land at Nice International Airport, which is just seven kilometres west of the city. For a fair number of tourists staying in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Nice is a popular destination for a day trip. For instance, it seems that about half of Dutch tourists who do a day trip to Nice are camping elsewhere in France. Usually this is within a radius of a few dozen kilometres.

These days, the seaside resort of Cannes seems synonymous with the world of glitz and glamour, big yachts, nightclubs, film stars and luxury cars on the Boulevard de la Croisette. But don't let this blind you too much. During your holidays on the Côte d'Azur, you will certainly also get to know another side of Cannes and its beautiful surroundings.
