The race

The Iceland Volcano Half Marathon is a unique race for the fanatic half marathon runner, who is looking for an adventurous and challenging race. Because that is what this race is without a doubt. At this location in the north of Iceland, the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, which has created a unique (still active) volcanic environment. A unique environment, which consists of black volcanic sand, geysers and glaciers. The unpaved roads around Myvatn are waiting to be conquered by you! Would you rather do a whole marathon? Weather

Icelandic summers are relatively cold and wet. Expect temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees.

Course

The first 10 km are flat but then there is a climb of 125 meters. Then flat until 14 km after which there is a steep descent. The rest of the course is flat.

Participants in the full and half marathon will receive an exclusive t-shirt and a medal to commemorate this unique event.
