The marathon in Dresden is one of the most famous and enjoyable marathons in Germany. The route takes you along the rich history of the city and the Elbe river. Course

The route takes you through the pub-filled New Town (one of Europe's largest Gründerzeit-style districts), over the Waldschlößchen Bridge to the Grand Garden, and back to the historic city centre full of famous sights.

    Wilkommen in Dresden! U bent vandaag op eigen vervoer aangekomen in Dresden, en staat daarmee aan het begin van een bijzondere loopreis! Na het inchecken in het hotel heeft u geruim de tijd om de stad alvast te ontdekken, of even bij te komen van de reis naar het oosten van Duitsland.

    Na het dagelijkse ontbijtbuffet heeft u vandaag veel tijd om in de bijzondere geschiedenis van Dresden te duiken. Een stad, waar u wordt herinnerd aan de gevolgen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en de verdeling tussen Oost- en West-Duitsland. Daarnaast dient u vandaag het startbewijs op te halen bij de marathon expo in het Internationale Congress Center. Hier kunt u ook optioneel deelnemen aan de pasta party!

    De grote dag! Na het ontbijt gaat u naar de start van de 10km, halve marathon of hele marathon. In een internationaal deelnemersveld kunt u na het startschot genieten van de intieme sfeer die rond dit evenement hangt. Na het bereiken van de finish ontvangt u een mooie medaille als aandenken aan deze prestatie.

    Het einde van de loopreis. Na het ontbijt kunt u uitchecken in het hotel. Daarna heeft u de keuze om direct de reis huiswaarts te beginnen, of nog een moment te pakken om Dresden voor de laatste keer te bezichtigen. Wij hopen dat u naast een medaille, ook een mooie ervaring rijker bent geworden.

    Located in the lively and cosy shopping street Prager Straße, the Hotel Ibis Dresden Zentrum has, as its name suggests, a central location in Dresden. From here, the main train station and the entire inner city of this beautiful city in the east of Germany are within walking distance. The location in the Altstadt, the old town, also ensures that you can easily reach the main attractions, such as the Zwinger Palace complex and the Frauenkirche. 

    The rooms at the Ibis Dresden Zentrum are classically furnished. The bathroom has a shower, and you can park on site for a fee. The continental breakfast buffet is available from 06:00, so that you are well prepared for the start of the Dresden Marathon, Half Marathon or 10 km. This start and finish location is only 25 minutes from the hotel by tram. All in all, the Ibis Dresden Zentrum will help you to enjoy a fantastic marathon weekend in Dresden without any worries!
