Since its very first edition in 1981, the Helsinki City Marathon has been the largest and most international marathon in Finland. The Helsinki Marathon offers runners a route overlooking the sea and parts through the city centre. The start is in the Olympic Stadium, next to the statue of one of the most famous runners of all time: Paavo Nurmi. After a relatively flat run, all participants of the entire marathon will finish in the Telia 5G Areena. You can also participate in the half marathon on the same day or run a combination of both runs.

After arriving in Helsinki, you should go to Hotel Helka on your own. The day is still early, so you can fill it in as you wish. Visit for example the Old Market Hall (market), Mannerheim Museum or the Aalto House.

The day before the races. You will need to pick up the bib number today on your own. The rest of the day you are free to explore the city further. For example, visit Fort Suomenlinna or take the excellent tram connection and go on your own adventure. Visit one of the many markets, historical sites or, for example, the Esplanadi Park.

The day of the marathon, half marathon or double! You can start the day relaxed and make use of the breakfast arrangement. In the late morning the starting shot will start. Because this course is relatively flat, it is an excellent opportunity to improve your personal time. Finishers will receive a t-shirt, medal and diploma.
