Like many other things in the Czech Republic, the birth of the Prague Marathon is a legendary story. Originally drawn on a napkin, while drinking beer, the course was designed in 1994 with the idea of establishing a tradition. It has undoubtedly succeeded! Prague is not only a beautiful historical city with a rich history and many sights, but also perfect to set a new personal record. The course of the Prague Marathon has only slight differences in altitude and runs through the old city centre as well as along the two banks of the Mondau River and across Charles Bridge. While running, the course offers the runner the opportunity to enjoy the city and what it has to offer. When you reach the finish line, you will receive a special reward - traditional Czech beer!

You will go to Prague on your own. Due to the early arrival in the Czech capital, you will have enough time to discover the city today. The Old Town Square, also known as Staromestské námestí, is highly recommended. In the evening, you can enjoy the attractive and lively city here.

If you didn't pick up your bib nummer for the Prague Marathon yesterday, there is still a chance to do so today. Today there is also enough time to see more of Prague! A visit to the Jewish quarter is definitely worthwhile. The famous Karel's Castle is of course also part of your visit to this city. In addition, the romantic Kampa Island is a cosy and atmospheric place. Especially on the square Ne Kampe you can find nice cafes!
