The race

A good alternative to the Loch Ness Marathon is the River Ness 10k. While the marathon starts far outside the city, the setting for the 10 km of Loch Ness is mainly the city of Inverness. Along the banks of the Ness, the participants go over the flat course, towards the city centre, where they will receive a warm welcome at the finish in Bught Park. Those who want to improve their personal best time on the 10 km have a good opportunity to do so at the Loch Ness 10 km. A fantastic run through the capital of the Scottish Highlands.

On this day you will need to collect your starting ticket for the marathon or 10km. After that, the rest of the day is at your leisure. For example, visit Inverness Castle and St. Andrew's Cathedral. Or take a walk in the beautiful nature of Scotland.

Unfortunately this is already the last day of the walking tour. You will make your own way to the airport for the return trip to Amsterdam (13:25-16:00) We wish you a safe journey home!

Ardross Glencairn is situated in the centre of Inverness, just 5 minutes walk from the river and 15 minutes from the bus and train station. The accommodation consists of 2 monumental Victorian houses, connected by an extension at the back. It offers free Wi-Fi in public areas.
The rooms at the front of the accommodation have original period features and are all equipped with Freeview TV, a hairdryer and towels. Most have a private bathroom and all rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities.
Continental self-service breakfast is served in the dining room with plenty of choices to get your day off to a good start.
Pension Ardross Glencairn is a 5-minute walk from several restaurants and bars. The Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and the Milton Leisure Club are about 500 metres away.
