The race

The Budapest Half Marathon is a highly regarded event, which is run in the autumn. Participants from more than 80 different countries run in a friendly atmosphere through the streets of this beautiful city. The passages along the banks of the Danube and the various sights of the city are particularly memorable.

You fly with KLM from Amsterdam to Budapest (11:25-13:20) and go to hotel Medos on your own. Budapest has a good and accessible public transport network at a very affordable price. Discover the culture, the culinary kitchen and the beautiful places of this city. This trip has enough free time, so do not rush to explore the city. Keep in mind that you have to walk on Sunday.

The day where great times will be run. Everyone is expected early at the start of the Half Marathon. When the starting shot has sounded, the runners will be cheered on by all the supporters. Once at the finish, each runner will receive a medal. After this, there is enough time to rest.

The end of the Hungarian adventure in Budapest. You will make your own way to the airport for the return flight to Amsterdam (17:05-19:15) With a medal and a unique experience you will return home.

The Medosz Hotel has a wonderful location in the Hungarian metropolis of Budapest. Located on Andrássy Street, some of the city's most characteristic sights are just 5 minutes away from the hotel. For example, the National Opera House is within a few metres of the hotel. The important Danube River, which divides the city into two parts, is also a few minutes from Medosz. For those travellers who like to go a little further into the city, public transport can be used. The metro station Oktogon is just down the street and makes the whole city very accessible.
In the hotel itself you can relax very comfortably after a day in Budapest or now the race. The start and finish locations of the marathon, half marathon and 30km can be reached easily by public transport. You will reach this location within approximately 25 minutes. The rooms of this 3-star hotel have their own private bathroom with bath or shower and flat-screen TV. Many rooms at the hotel also offer air conditioning and views over Budapest from the balcony. All in all, a wonderful choice for a stay in the heart of the dynamic city of Budapest!
