The race

The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is the largest in the Netherlands and is held together with the Mizuno Half Marathon and the TCS 8K run. 45,000 enthusiastic runners are trying to set their personal record here, because the course is incredibly fast. The event is very popular internationally (more than 120 nations joining) and has a really great start and finish location with the Olympic Stadium from 1928. As a spectator you can watch the event live free of charge in the stadium on a big screen. The fast course leads through the beautiful old town and along the windmills on the Amstel (river). Accordingly, it is a varied course with city and green passages and plenty of entertainment and support along the way.

Course

Highlights of the flat and fast course include the start and finish in the Olympic Stadium, the passage under the Rijksmuseum, the kilometers along the Amstel River and the lap through Vondelpark.

Pasta party

We will be organizing a Pasta Party on Saturday 19 October in the VIP area in the Olympic Stadium. We guarantee an excellent meal for €30 (including 1 drink). There are three groups: from 16.30 – 17.45, from 18.00 – 19.15 and from 19.30 – 21.00.

    We welcome you in Amsterdam. Today you can pick up your bib number at the Marathon Expo between 1PM and 8PM. The rest of the day you have time to explore the city and prepare accordingly. In addition, we offer you various excursion options! The Rijksmuseum, Body Worlds or a bike tour through the city are just some of the possibilities.

    The day before te run. This day there are plenty of activities who are completely without obligation. You could go for a fresh morning walk through Amsterdam, if you want to pace it up you could choose the Morning City Run through the beautiful city. Also today the is the possibility to pick up your bib number between 9AM and 7PM. And for in the evening you could registrate for the Pasta Party! Discover the beautyness of Amsterdam on land of through the water on a longboat.

    It's finally here, today is your big day! The Amsterdam Marathon. Start (09:00) and finish are at the Olympic Stadium with a great atmosphere. Are you ready to set a super fast time? Don't forget to enjoy the amazing course and soak up the atmosphere in the stadium at your finish.

    The budget opportunity for your running adventure in Amsterdam. The new Ibis Budget Amsterdam City South is located in Amstelveen, in the south of the city and benefits from a direct connection to the Olympic Stadium and the centre of Amsterdam. Kronenburg railway station is just 100 metres from the hotel, making it easy to reach on foot. Near the Olympic Stadium are both the expo and the start and finish location of the Amsterdam Marathon, Half Marathon and the 8km. This can be reached within 25 minutes from the hotel.

    The hotel offers single, double or triple rooms. The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. At the reception you can also rent bikes to discover Amsterdam. In the vicinity of the Ibis Budget Amsterdam City South you will find the Amstelpark, which lends itself perfectly as a warm-up for the Sunday run!
