The race

The Valencia Marathon has become increasingly popular in recent years and is therefore often sold out early. And this is logical; the overall good weather conditions, the flat course and of course the beautiful start and finish location in the City of Arts and Sciences! The track runs through the historic centre of Valencia. The runners will pass some of the highlights of the city, such as the Plaza Anyuntamiento, the Plaza de Toros and the Turia Park. As the marathon takes place at the end of the calendar year, the temperature during this period is between 12 and 17 degrees. In combination with the flat course, this is an ideal opportunity to set a personal record!

There will be a running clinic of about 35 minutes in the morning. You can then collect your start number on your own. In the early evening, a presentation and pasta party will be organised in Hotel Medium.

Sunday, 01 December 2024

The day of the Marathon! At 08.30, the starting gun will sound. The race will take you through the streets and on roads where you can experience the authenticity of Valencia. After finishing, you will receive a medal that you can have engraved. The rest of the day can be filled to your liking. At the end of the afternoon, an after marathon drink will be organised at Hotel Medium.

You still have until early afternoon to explore Valencia further. At the hotel, for example, you can rent a bike and take a scenic route through the city. The Bioparc (the zoo) is highly recommended. The Mercado Central (central market), Jardín del Turia (park area) or the City of the Arts and Sciences (science museums/ aquariums) are must-see sights! Return to the airport in the afternoon to return home.

Start, finish and expo are a few meters walk from the hotel. The El Saler indoor shopping centre is about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. In the street of the hotel you will find several nice restaurants. You can get to the city centre in about 10 minutes by bus (bus stop right outside the door).
